Chrome's Fall Shoes.

Chrome bags has dropped sneak preview images of their new fall collection of shoes. Using all the best materials these shoes were made with a ton of speciality bike features such as a Propulsion Plate stiffener in the sole, Cordura laces with steel aglets, a reflective heel (how cool is that?!), and a lip on the toe to help you flip into your pedals. They even look pretty neat. Kind of remind me of early Macbeth shoes.





These shoes will be available here in early September.

Space Saver Idea

So not sure what kind of bracket or holding system this is (or if its even something branded). But I love the way this bike looks being held against the wall like this. Such a great space saver and not at all bulky... I'm going to have to run down to Home Depot and learn how to make one of these!

New Woodgrain Reload Bags

Reload bags has got a super cool new print out! Called their woodgrain print it comes in three different colors, tan, coyote, and white. The bag shapes include their standard civillian, small civillian, as well as their softpack.

The Ride Journal

Here's a magazine that's simply all about riding bikes, called the Ride Journal. It doesn't pigeon hole readers into just one style and is about all the various different kinds of riding. It is a journal of personal stories about bikes and how they have changed people's lives. They use very little space of the magazine with advertisements (7 pages out of 148 for their first publication). The magazine seems to sell out quickly but it is available to download online. Their photography is top notch and their articles are really interesting! Here's where you can download the second issue!

Kinfolk x Carnival Tokyo

The Japanese have a tendency to make all things beautiful, techie, and well made... Bikes are surely no different, and this bike built by Kinfolk (a newer bike brand) and Carnival Tokyo bike shop, is a beauty! The co-branded fixed gear has a Kinfolk frame with components by Carnival Tokyo.

Bruxe Wear

There have got to be more than a dozen bag companies. Ranging in price, look, and style it seems there are tons of options. I recently stumbled upon Canadian company, Bruxe Design and I have to say, they have some rad looking bags and a lot of cool styles for those who don't just want a typical messenger or backpack, to top it off they are geared towards both bike riders and skateboarders!

Clever Anti Theft Device(s)

Bike theft seems to be a growing epidemic everywhere. I've seen it all over Los Angeles at almost every bike event. Dominic Wilcox, a designer/experimenter has come up with this clever, although probably not fail proof, way to not get your bike stolen.

These are stickers that adhere to any bike (or car) making it look rusted and scratched so that nobody would want to steal your beloved biked since it now suddenly looks so shabby and poorly taken care of.

He leaves this funny note on the back of the sticker pack "Note. This anti-theft device is not guaranteed to work in any way.
However I have stuck them to my shiney new red bike and can confirm it hasn't been stolen yet. 13 days of not being stolen in London probably equates to 7 years of non-stealing in the friendly countryside."
