Yike Bike!
This Eurobike, also called the Yike Bike, was just released a week ago today. It weights a mere 9.8 kilograms and folds down small enough to fit in a backpack. It has a powerful 1.2 kW electric motor, a controller that replaces the chain/pedal and all that goes with it. It is the first bike to hit the market that has electronic anti-skid brakes. It also has lights, indicators, and brake lights! It's top speed is 20km/h and is intended for city rides of up to 9km. Major downside, is the $4860 price tag!

Another Urban Bicycle
Tom Mudra and Hans-Tobias Schicktanz are two German designers who designed this bike called the Mosquito.
“Our aim was to create a lightweight and attractive E- Bike suitable for urban places. The motor is powered by lithium batteries which cost about 50p to charge. The Mosquito has got a range of about 60 km (37 miles) with a maximum Speed of 50 km/h (31 miles)”
Materials used for the frame can differ, as well the frame incorporates batteries and motor e.g. carbon fiber, wood and plastic.
Now, how do you think it looks?

Teague has come out with a new concept for an urban bike called, the Pulse. The bike is everything that would be needed for a standard bike commute including electric turn signals, a luminescent frame, and specialized bike pedals that have weights in them so they always stay right side up.

The frame lights up only when you need it, making you much more visible on the road.

More information here.
